Delaney and I got to the bus stop on time, but then missed the bus. We had a moment of panic, since his school is 11 miles away, and it's a long drive through the country.
Typically when we get to the street, we park facing west since the sun is in our eyes. However we can see the bus coming around the corner if need be. Today, a cello day, Delaney asked me to cut his nails, so I was snipping a few when we heard the bus start up. I looked in the rear view mirror and sure enough, the bus was pulling away from the stop.
I asked Delaney where it goes, and he said it loops around. So we headed over to the second stop that we'd used for elementary, and there were a couple girls waiting there. I dropped Delaney off, but still waited to be sure this was the right bus. The streets back here tend to loop around, but you never know.
He got off OK, but I was a little annoyed. I'd have thought one of the other two parents would have honked a horn or said something to us. Instead they let us sit there, and let the bus go away. It's not like we're not there every day.
