I haven't seen my wife since last Friday, 5 days now and 3 more to go. That's a long time, and I definitely miss her. We are apart more than we'd like with work and travel, but they tend to be short trips. This is a long, rough one, and while we've had a few 8-10 day separations, they're never fun.
We've talked almost every day, but it's been short. She had to go to Houston for a funeral while I was out here with kids, and so things have been rushed. Today she called as I was driving to a local park, and we ended up talking for nearly an hour about the kids, our extended families, etc.
A nice time to reconnect for us.
