Staying Home

Today was my best shot to get out of town and ski again. With lunch yesterday scheduled and a ortho appt for the kids tomorrow, this was a good time to get up there for a 4 hour half day of up and downs.

When I saw the forecast of snow, I was thinking that it was cancelled, but when I woke up it was clear here. I popped out of bed and checked the CDOT cameras.

Idaho Springs, clear.

Georgetown, clear

Eisenhower Tunnel East, clear

Eisenhower Tunnel West, clear

Silverthorne, clear

I then checked out Copper and you can see the I-70 sign saying “icy roads and snowing coming down in the background. After dropping the kids off, I checked again, and it had moved to Georgetown and was coming down pretty good. A forecast of 3-5” in Copper, so while I could fight it, it’s not worth it when I have no one to cover kids if I run late.

Oh well, there’s always Fri!
