The American Legion

Today was a driving day for me. First down to Parker to get the oil changed and run errands. However when I finished with the oil, Tia’s truck told me it was 11:00 and I needed to get back home to get Delaney to a food drive. I raced through the library and then headed home.

It turned out that Tia’s truck was back on Daylight Savings Time. I almost headed back to town, but decided not to and did some fence measuring. Uma left the property again, so we need to contain her. I also set up a few markers.

Then it was off the Wal-Mart for a food drive. Delaney was volunteering with the American Legion trying to get food for the holidays. He was the only Scout that showed up and he looked good in his uniform.

He filled up a bunch of boxes, with the local American Legion members helping him out. Mostly it was 1 or 2 guys standing with Delaney and a bunch of others sitting around and chatting. A good day out there and proud that Delaney was enthusiastically greeting people and collecting food.

I left him there, coming back to get Kendall and run her out to Kiowa for her annual Girl Scout cookie sleepover / toy drive at the Ag Building. A fairly quick drop-off as Kendall was happy to be rid of me. Then back to get Delaney and head home.

Not a lot done by my other than shuttling, but glad to get the kids to a few events and have them helping out the community.
