Weekend Work
Then it was glue on the boards and adding in rubber mats.
Once that was done, I was back to work, but I'd missed most of the day. With Tia teaching all day, I was at work on Saturday, writing for most of the time and catching up on various misc admin items that I need to get done. I've got a week of time to get two and a half weeks of work done.
Today I slept in, since I'm not sure when I'll get the chance again. Likely it's a couple weeks of getting up early and working. After a slow start, I was back at the computer, working on a new presentation. Fortunately it's close to one I did last year, so I mainly need to change some things around, but I got some things done.
Now I'm mostly caught up and it's time for a short run.

Snowy Spring Weekend
I was in Phoenix Friday and Saturday. When I left, it was cooling off, but still light jacket weather. In Phoenix, it was warm.
However a blizzard hit on Saturday, and plenty of flights were cancelled by a few airlines. I think this was really pro-active to save money somehow, but I was watching things all day. I ended up getting my flight at 8pm, and it landed around 11:30, no real issues. A fairly smooth flight overall.
However it was cold.
I was in short sleeves and had to dig out my jacket when I got back. I’d been in touch with Tia, and she said there was well over a foot at the house. In fact, she wasn’t sure she’d be able to dig out to get Kendall to volleyball.
I’d booked a hotel up in Fort Collins, to make things easier. Tia didn’t go, but since it was late, and I didn’t want to leave my car on the road, get stuck, or hike a mile in non-snow shoes, I drove up to Fort Collins. It was slightly longer than going home, and there was less snow for sure, but it was hard. A blizzard that had me doing 35-40 on the highway.
I made it around 1:30 and went to sleep. Things melted off on Sunday, and we made it home Sunday night, seeing both the Prius and Tia’s truck stuck in the driveway, thanks to our boys.
Worried about school this am, I was up at 6, and out plowing.
I managed to get up and down the driveway a few times before Delaney drove out with no issues.
I took a break, but then helped Tia get the cars out at lunch.
Finally, I took 10 minutes and shoveled out the walk.
Maybe 15 minutes.

Yoga
Still sore this am, but up early to head to yoga before I leave for Phoenix this afternoon. Felt good to move, though it was hard. The last flow wore me out a bit and I had to take a few breaks. It’s been a tough week, with 9 workouts since Sun.

60 for 24
Last night was the end of the NBA regular season, with two big events. The Warriors, going for 73 (they made it) and Kobe Bryant’s last game. The Lakers won’t make the playoff, so this was it for 24, a guy whose entire career I’ve watched and been amazed by. Not all good, and not necessarily always a good guy, but always exciting.
Yesterday as I listened to people talk about both events, I wondered which would be more important. Certainly people were split on what to watch, but an easy one for me. Kobe.
I did turn on the game, watching into the third quarter, and was excited to see him get going after an 0-4 start, and then hit 5 in a row, including some that reminded me of his greatness. It was nice to see him get to 30 around halftime, and then I feel asleep. I wasn’t sure if he’d get 40, but I was amazed to wake up and see he got 60.
60!
Few players in the NBA have scored 60. In fact, it’s been done 64 times, with Wilt having 32, and Kobe 6.
I’m not completely surprised. He’s a great shooter, despite his issues this season, and the rest of the team was feeding him, giving him chances on almost every possession. He ended up with 50 shots, an incredible number.
Quite the end to an amazing career, and he’ll be missed. I also wonder what will happen with the Lakers. I expect it will be a few years before they really get to the playoffs again.
Sore
A sore day today, and I’m tired. I hit the gym last night for the first time in quite awhile, going to a cardio class. I’ve done some yoga, including Sun am, but not often enough. Life has been just too busy.
I’ve also had a sore calf, the right one, the last week or so. It’s bugged me a bit running, but usually warms up and feels better. That worried me last night, but I thought I’d try and go easy.
It was a good class, certainly slower for me, not much jumping, no real explosiveness, but working hard. I was tired at the end, fell asleep around 10:15, and woke up tired and sore. Still, it was good to get back.
I did manage a short, easy, slow run today. 1.1 miles, and that’s 98 days in a row.
Yeah.

Unpacked and Re-packed
I got home from SF yesterday around 3. I drove down to Castle Rock to meet Kendall for volleyball practice and have a meeting with her coach. Then it was home and unpacking my bag.
Because I had to repack it. Kendall and I leave today for Kansas City and the Show Me Volleyball tournament, and since Delaney is driving us, I had to repack my bag and get it into his car this morning.
A crazy week, plus I’m returning the rental today, so I have to get things set and then head to town to await the Delaney shuttle.
Feels like a stressful travel week and looking forward to unwinding and watching volleyball in KC.
