We simply do the salsa thing + black beans. Then have everyone assemble their own. We did that last night at church, for instance. Works out well, easy, and doesn't require anything that's not usually in our pantry/refrigerator.

I agree. It would be best for readers to read the series from the beginning in order to for them to familiarize themselves with John Rain and Dox, starting with Rain Fall up to Fault Line where we're introduced to Ben Treven. Otherwise, this is another excellently-written novel by Eisler.

Hey Steve - glad you enjoyed the book. I too hate books that end in cliffhangers. The problem is that the story we envisioned clocked in at almost a million words. Tor was gracious enough to buy the story even knowing it wouldn't reach its conclusion till The Unincorporated Future. And a note on that - Tor paid us for a trilogy. We actually turned in an 830 page manuscript for The Unincorporated Woman. They looked at us like we were from Mars. Hence The Unincorporated Future. Like you, I can't wait for the series to be complete if only to finally begin discussing in earnest the overarching themes. And FYI, there are lots of anagrams. When you look at the weapons Favre had, and the defensive make-up, and how the game turned out (can you say "Desmond Howard"), Favre didn't have to press his luck that season. The team was stacked. When Don Beebe and Andre Rison are "also" receivers in your arsenal, that's saying something. So over time I think Favre's gunslinger attitude has gotten him more credit than he is rightfully due. He has a flair, he wins the crowd, but he believes his own hype. And that, I think, is Romo's problem, too.

I read most of the way through, and then skimmed the rest of it. Didn't like the way the story was unfolded, because it is hurky-jerky. Then again, I felt the same way about Chaucer's Canterbury Tales, of which this one's format is modeled.
