My wife left town. Kid #1 moved out last year. Kid #2 went to a concert. Kid #3 had a date. Me and this crew are home alone, unsure of what to do. Leftovers and a little Netflix on the agenda.

Colorado Has Great Work Life Balance

A report based on a survey says Colorado has the best balance between work and life.

It's a survey, so take it with a grain of salt. Only a small number of people were surveyed, and likely, they were all professionals with good, salaried jobs. This doesn't mean Colorado is great, but that it's the best of many bad situations.

For context, here are some of the stats

All good things, all apply to me and many in my industry.

But, for the average person in Colorado (or anywhere), they might work a lower-skilled job, or be a tradesperson, or a teacher, or some other job where they commute every day, they work more than 40 hours, they get no maternity or paternity.

Colorado is a great place to live, but for many people, life may not be great. This isn't a Trump or Biden thing, or a Democrat or GOP thing. This is a sad fact of the modern world, where technology and very large companies have eroded a lot of things in the world that made the top of the lower class through the middle class successful.

I read a few comments when our governor posted this link. I see the anger and the disbelief, but that's because those people don't see life the same way and don't have the advantages of those that answered the survey.

Or they're just mad at Democrats. That's a stupid view, and equal to the stupid view that all Republicans are a problem.

78F in Denver today. Still warm enough but the gym bailed and drained the pool. Until next summer
