Three Suits

I have tried hard to be who I am and dress the way I want. I am glad that I can wear shorts and tshirts, or whatever, for work on most days. It’s been years since I had to wear a suit for any purpose, and rarely worn ties. Actually, just a few funerals have required ties.

However, a couple years ago I had to rent a tuxedo. I was giving the awards at our company party, and so I rented a tux. My wife came with me and it wasn’t too bad, although I definitely wasn’t super comfortable.

Fast forward a year, and they invited me back. I had to do it again, and it was fine, though I ditched the jacket as soon as I could.

Last month, I had to go to a wedding. It was a friend of Tia’s, and I’ve known about this for almost a year. I needed to fit in, and rented a suit. It went fine, though the ladies at Men’s Warehouse kept trying to get me to decide what was better, a or b, for various items. I could care less, and got them to decide. Things turned out well.

Now it’s time again. A friend of Tia invited us to a charity event tomorrow and I had to get another suit. I called and had them just rent me the same thing this week. I went today and the jacket was a touch large. They’d warned me about that last month and I forgot, so they ordered a new one. We’ll see what it’s like when it comes, but either way, I’ll be wearing my third suit in less than a year.

Not a habit I’d like to continue.
